The Afterglow: Transitioning Into Motherhood

The Afterglow is an online 6 week skills-building and support group launching on September 6, 2023. This group is geared toward pregnant women and mothers of babies 0-12 months who would like support navigating their emotions and adjustment to motherhood. Our last session will be in-person. Session topics include: The Birth of a Mother; Understanding Your Range of Emotions; Coping Tools and Treatment Options; Navigating Relationships as a Mom; Mindfully Connecting with Your Baby; and Finding Fun, Joy & Connection Together.

Group Therapist

Clients come to Victoria to feel heard, navigate a tough season in life, and learn practical ways to start feeling more like themselves again. Victoria works with adults experiencing life changes, relationship difficulties, depression, anxiety, or struggling to cope with being "deeply feeling" (highly sensitive). As a Perinatal Mental Health Trained Provider, Victoria specializes in working with women before and during pregnancy and in the early years of motherhood. Many of her clients are seeking support for feelings of ambivalence around motherhood, postpartum depression or anxiety, "mom rage," grief and loss, work/life balance, and other daily challenges of parenthood.

Victoria uses a trauma-informed and culturally sensitive approach tailored to each individual client. She incorporates cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness, and attachment-based tools in order to to helps clients: change unhelpful thoughts and behavior; cope with intense feelings; heal from past wounds; communicate more effectively; and focus more on the present. Victoria offers a safe space in which clients feel understood, gain new insight, and become better equipped to make the changes they desire.

Victoria has over a decade of experience working in various settings, including private practice, social services and hospitals. She has advanced training and experience in the areas of perinatal/maternal mental health, anxiety, depression, trauma, attachment, early childhood development, acute mental health crisis, and more.
