Recovery Skill-Building in Community

Description

Weekly groups are available for people in recovery from addiction and/or trauma who want to learn the basic thought-based and emotional skills they were never taught growing up, while also exploring the inner Awareness that is the heart of who you are spiritually. You can explore your spirituality without having to adhere to a dogma, doctrine or 12-step program. This is for people with a minimum of 3 months of sobriety, who want to explore creating change for themselves with the support of a group. In a relaxed environment, beginning with a brief meditation (you'll be taught how to meditate too), we meet to look at what transformations you would like to see in yourself and your life. Instruction in basic human skills will be part of each meeting. The changes can be practical, psychological and spiritual. The energy of the group is a safe, confidential, and potent agent for change. As a group, you can hold each other accountable to make the changes that you say you want to make. Your therapist and spiritual guide, Jonathan Labman, LPC will create a safe and positive environment to facilitate these changes. His book: Being Human and Waking Up (available on Amazon) will serve as the guidebook for skill-building.

Group Therapist

Jonathan Labman is a Licensed Professional Counselor in eastern Pennsylvania who has been practicing for 24 years. His clientele is an eclectic group of people who are in recovery from trauma, addiction, and other complex issues. He will work with you on all aspects of human life: physical, mental, emotional, psychological and spiritual.

Jonathan will help you to learn how to be an effective human being. He will teach you to determine if the thoughts you're using to make decisions are based in truth or in false assumptions. He will help you to face and identify feelings (including flashbacks) and trace where they come from, to determine if they're coming from truthful sources and are therefore useful for insight and action.

Clients are from all walks of life, ages 21 to 90. Some have never had therapy, others didn't feel it worked, and some have explored psychological healing but don't feel complete or whole yet. For those of you interested interested in spiritual awakening and enlightenment as an important dimension of recovery, Jonathan can guide you there too.

Jonathan knows how to work with your pain and suffering with deep spiritual and psychological understanding. He applies 54 years of personal and professional exploration to create very interactive sessions for you. He will 'mirror' you to yourself and reduce what seem like 'complex issues' to the very simple habit patterns (of thought, action, feeling, spirituality, and creativity) that are actually in your way, so they can be dissolved.

You can meet Jonathan in his consulting office in Holicong, Pennsylvania (near Doylestown) and/or by videoconference through an encrypted and HIPAA-compliant platform for therapy in Pennsylvania.
