Helping people of all ages navigate the important relationships in their lives is something that has been pivotal in my work for many years.

From infant development to retirement and beyond, family life forms the matrix from which we all learn about how to be with and talk to others. There's no such thing as a perfect family, and no training manual for parenting, which means that all of us suffer from the bumps and bruises of learning to live with one another, imperfectly.

If and when we can figure out how to treat ourselves and others with dignity and respect, without shame and humiliation, we can enrich our connections to others and feel some measure of safety in the world. I'm grateful to guide you along that path.

I will work with you collaboratively to understand your experience, your joy, your pain, your struggles, and your goals. We all have different parts of us that make up who we are, and help us learn and grow. They influence how we feel about ourselves, our relationships, and our environments.

You may have a self-critical part, a hopeless part, a caretaking part, and many more. I truly enjoy getting to know each new client's inner world, and helping you harness your own self-love for transformative healing.

As we work together, you will better understand why you think and feel the way you do, and the patterns of interaction that can get in your way. As you increase your awareness, you will learn more skills to build healthy relationships and make choices that bring you closer to how you want to live. If that sounds interesting to you, schedule a call, and we can see if we're a good fit!

Arnab Datta

I practice general psychiatry and addiction psychiatry using a variety of talk therapy and customized medication management. As an addiction specialist, I prescribe customized detox regimens to help patients get off benzos such as xanax (among other), opiates such as heroin and painkillers & stimulants such as adderall and cocaine. I'm a licensed suboxone provider for opiate addiction and also provide injections such as vivitrol and sublocade. I also treat behavioral addictions such as gambling, internet and sex addiction using the Sinclair Method. The Sinclair Method is psychotherapy (motivational interviewing is the main therapy treating addiction) plus the anti-craving medication Naltrexone, which blocks cravings for behaviors. This can strengthen your will-power to overcome a negative behavior or drug use. You don't need to have an addiction to see me, I am a general psychiatrist who puts your emotional issues first. I want to hear your story and see it from your shoes. You can vent and I will provide emotional support. However, I will also give you tactful unbiased objective feedback and a "reality check."

Finding a therapist who you feel a connection to can be as important and hard as the decision to begin therapy altogether.  It’s so important! Therapeutic fit is the best predictor of therapeutic outcome so I hope that as you slow down and read through this you will have a better understanding of my approach and style.

My approach is depth oriented and holistic. I look deeply at what is brining you into therapy and what will help you feel complete and ready to end. I look at the whole picture of what’s going on in your life not just the symptoms you present to me. I want to illuminate and bring healing to what’s underlying by getting to the root cause of what’s out of balance for you. Through addressing all of the pieces to the puzzle, I can help you make pivotal shifts and lifestyle changes so you can find wholeness again.

All people deserve to live a life that is fulfilling, empowered, and free. Often, due to the trauma of daily living and greater challenges we are cut-off from our own source of wisdom and feel stymied and stuck. In a day and age that values product over process, mind over body, and quick-fix techniques more than in-depth healing, we leave a lot of our pain—and a lot of our story unexplored. My approach to psychotherapy is appropriate for anyone and everyone seeking better to understand themselves, transform their choices, and create life-shifts no matter how big or small.
