Professional statement

Aleecia Kaloustian is a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist in New York who is passionate about the healing qualities of art and the creative process. Her practice incorporates both traditional talk therapy and art therapy techniques specific to achieving her client's goals.

In 2017, Aleecia completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training to share the clarity and grounding she achieved in her personal practice. Since then, she has worked to integrate mindfulness and yoga into her work as an art therapist. The practice of mindfulness interventions within the therapeutic setting can help bring awareness and acceptance to our experiences. Aleecia has led mindfulness and art making groups in many of the settings she's worked in.

Through art, traditional verbal processing, and mindfulness techniques, clients will have a chance to explore past experiences and focus on how they manifest in their present lives.

Aleecia believes that the therapeutic process should feel tangible and productive, and that integrating mindfulness techniques accomplishes this by allowing clients to leave sessions with practical tools and coping strategies that better serve them.

Message to clients

Asking for help is incredibly difficult, but it is the first step in creating change. The decision to work with a therapist should not feel like a failure, rather it should feel like a brave and proactive decision to improve aspects of your life. My intention is to help you find what inspires you. Together, we will work through painful past experiences and set achievable goals for the future.
