Licensed Professional Counselor, LPC Specialties • Insurance & Fees • LocationsAlison Heiser is a therapist whose ideal client is someone who is ready to commit to their growth and well-being, someone who wants to be engaged in the therapeutic process. She works collaboratively with you to set goals and discover what you would like to accomplish with your time in therapy.
The majority of her clientele are women aged 18 - 65 who are looking to: heal from trauma, find that perfect relationship - or heal the one they are in - navigate a tough transition, forge a new identity at any point in life, or learn how to manage uncomfortable feelings like grief, anxiety, anger, and low self-esteem.
Alison's approach combines several different modalities. Her overall approach is psychodynamic. Within that theory, she works in the modalities of CBT (Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy), Solution-Focused, Existential, and Mindfulness. At the same time, if there is acute or long-standing trauma, or attachment issues, she weaves in the somatic (body) work of Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and Hakomi, focusing on the felt sense of the body’s organization of experience in the present moment. Additionally, a Buddhist perspective often informs her work.
Alison is seeing clients in-person one day a week and working virtually four days a week. Remotely, she sees clients via Doxy, a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform.
