Professional statement

As humans we crave connection: to be known and deeply loved. But sometimes we may feel like there are parts of us that aren't acceptable. We may learn to be sensitive to other people's signals, discerning what we need to do so that they'll love or accept us. Sometimes, we get so good at it that we don't even realize we’re doing it anymore.

In the safety of therapy, I invite you to explore your full human experience. We will shine a light on the hidden places that you may not have been allowed to explore. We’ll acknowledge the barriers you have faced along the way while empowering you to move toward your fullest self.

My work is deeply rooted in the practice of recognizing and undoing the damage caused by white supremacy. It is impossible to engage in healing without acknowledging the ways that we have been asked to disconnect from ourselves, from the land that we live on, from our bodies, and, often, from our ability to see and experience compassion toward others.

I draw on traditional approaches to therapy like DBT, CBT, and ACT and I have completed additional trainings in EMDR, AEDP, IFS, Reiki, and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy. I use these approaches to create space for individuals with experiences of trauma including attachment or developmental trauma and for individuals struggling with eating disorders.

We will typically meet weekly for 45 minutes. However, we’ll collaborate together after our first few sessions to determine the frequency and length that best meet your needs and goals for therapy.

Message to clients

I invite you to explore your full human experience in the safety of therapy. Our work together will be based on the relationship that you and I form: a deep and trusting relationship that uses gentleness and acceptance to make room for your deepest needs. I invite you to be curious, to be playful, to cry, to honor your voice, and to heal.
