Anna Khandrueva is a Clinical Social Work Candidate located in Broomfield, CO. Anna specializes in working with clients who feel stuck in a difficult experience or memory and cannot find a way to move forward with their lives. Many of Anna’s clients feel apathetic about their lives and rarely feel excitement, though they long to. Anna helps these clients reconnect with themselves and others and take steps towards creating the lives that they desire. Anna sees individuals and couples using evidence-based therapeutic modalities.
Anna received additional training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. EMDR is an effective treatment for the symptoms of trauma after a difficult and distressing event. It utilizes the brain’s memory processes to signal to the client that the event is over and they are now safe. Anna is also certified in the Gottman Method, a couples and relationship therapy modality that grows a sense of respect between those involved. Anna focuses on raising the client’s awareness of their learned helplessness and their daily behaviors that lead to a sense of unfulfillment. By offering reflection and the tools needed to make change, Anna empowers clients to take charge of their lives.
Anna earned her Master’s degree in Social Work after coming to the United States from Russia. She previously had a career in finance, however found that she needed to take another path to feel comfortable and fulfilled in her life. Anna creates a compassionate, kind, engaging atmosphere for each client where they feel safe opening up and taking steps towards the life of their dreams.
