Bess is an attachment based therapist working with young adults and professionals specializing in: Eating disorders/negative body image, discovering the root cause and working through one's triggers using intuitive eating techniques and promotes Health at Every Size. Grief and loss caused by suicide, sudden death, terminal illness, or infertility. Existential issues, such as finding meaning in life, growing self-esteem, and developing identity formation. Bess also works with those struggling with chronic depression giving integrated coping skills with or without psychiatric/medical treatment or consultation.
Bess Moro uses the following therapeutic modalities: existential therapy, psychodynamic theory, mindfulness practices, gestalt therapy, holistic therapy, multicultural therapy, and narrative therapy. She has had years of training in all of the above, and uses an eclectic approach that includes these therapeutic practices as needed. Bess received her Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Denver Seminary located in Littleton, CO she also holds a Masters in Teaching from Christian Brothers University in Memphis, TN. In addition to her clinical work, Bess enjoys incorporating mindfulness and creativity in sessions. Bess also has experience with neurobiology and psychopharmacology and can help with and make referrals for medication management as necessary.
Bess works closely with clients to help them manage their grief, depression, and eating disorders in a meaningful way, tailoring the course of treatment to help each client discover their true selves, grow their self-esteem, and fight their inner critic. College & graduate student mental health - Specialized strategies for common issues of young adulthood, including school and career stressors, support around healthy relationships, existential concerns, drug or alcohol issues, eating disorders, and anxiety and/or depression
Existential crisis - Supportive exploration of meaning and purpose in one’s life; finding one’s path in the face of existential anxiety, dread, and feelings of meaninglessness
