Professional statement

Beth Bremer is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Certified Mindfulness Meditation Teacher and consultant in the Pacific Heights Neighborhood. She works with clients that are committed to their psychological and spiritual growth. Many of Beth’s clients come in navigating life transitions, have received challenging health news themselves or for a loved one, have experienced loss, or are seeking deeper meaning in their lives. Beth is particularly passionate about serving those on a psychological/spiritual path, seeking companionship on this journey, or simply a place to explore their inner questions. They also have advanced training in the area of Integrative Therapy, which includes the body, mind and spirit, as well as meditative/contemplative practices.

Beth style is very warm and relational. She uses Mindfulness, Jungian, Psychodynamic, and Transpersonal approaches, to help clients explore their own inner lives, relational patterning and motivations with compassion, cultivating greater perspective, and a deeper understanding of themselves. Beth draws on the immense resources of the body -- it's rich wisdom to support the cultivation of mindful presence, internal resource, gentle self-inquiry/guidance and embodiment, which allows not only tools for the journey, but also more clarity, and authentic expression. She is presently only seeing clients remotely, and will schedule a free 15 minute consultation by phone/video to answer any questions that you might have to see if it feels a "fit" to schedule a session.

Beth received their degree from the California Institute of Integral Studies, with a focus in Somatic (Body-Oriented) Psychology. She also holds a certificate as a Mindfulness Meditation teacher. She been in private practice for over twenty years, and was at California Pacific Medical Center, where she supervised Psychotherapy Interns. Outside of work, she loves to walk/hike, travel, film and practice yoga/meditation.

Message to clients

The poet Rumi says: "The pains you feel are messengers. Listen to them." It takes courage to begin any journey, and a journey of healing is no different. I so appreciate the hesitancy and fears, along with the hope of reaching out for support. The cultivation of deep listening, clear-seeing and compassion are of central importance to this work, as it is from this ground that offers our imagination and our lives room to gain insight, to heal and to feel more whole. My hope is that allowing any "pains" to be held by us with care, that they can be a doorway to both insight and healing.
