Brent Chumpitazi is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist located in Huntington Beach, CA. Brent is passionate about helping individuals overcome the impacts of trauma. Trauma might look like once-in-a-lifetime events like a car accident or chronic situations like hearing your family fight every day. Brent supports clients who have experienced either of these types of trauma to move forward.
Brent’s main therapy modality is called Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. When people experience traumatic events, their brains may not fully process the event or learn that it’s in the past. This means that the mind starts to react to trauma even when that person is in a safe environment. EMDR therapy helps the brain process through that trauma and find a more comfortable, secure state of being. Brent guides his clients through how trauma informs their feelings and behaviors and teaches skills to feel joy and safety despite past events.
Brent earned his Master’s degree from California State University Fullerton. Brent enjoys helping people in their twenties adapt to their adult lives. He empowers clients to take control of their lives and go do the things that bring them happiness.
