Carrie works with clients to explore and unpack core beliefs about themselves and the world in order to live a more meaningful life according to their values. Carrie strives to create a space for people to feel seen, heard and understood on a deep level, with the opportunity and safety to explore their inner worlds.
Many of Carrie's clients navigate feelings of stress, anxiety, depression and perfectionism that have become overwhelming, and impact how they show up at work and in relationships.
Carrie’s therapeutic approach is rooted in mindfulness, self-compassion and values based work. She draws from her training in Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and the Enneagram in order to expand clients’ capacity for connection, empowerment, and joy. Carrie also incorporates EMDR to help clients let go of the pain from their past and live more mindfully in the present.
Carrie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and received her Master’s of Science in Social Work from The University of Texas at Austin and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Carrie is also a 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) and has completed additional training on trauma-informed yoga and yoga in talk therapy.
