Professional statement

Cherise Arzaga is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing telehealth psychotherapy in the general Bay Area. Many of her clients have found telehealth to be extremely beneficial while managing demanding schedules and family lives. She has worked across lifespans but truly enjoys working with adults who are experiencing life transitions, work stress and perfectionism, and challenging relationship issues.

Cherise’s practice has a special commitment to nurturing the inherent strengths and confidence in a person to change distressing patterns and create growth. She is engaged, curious, compassionate, and at times humorous. She has been described as warm with a practical and calming presence. She will listen and unravel your story, highlight the ways in which culture and society have influenced this, discuss how past traumas and experiences have shaped who you are, and find ways to integrate your experiences today to live a more authentic life. Sessions are guided to help you discover new insights about yourself and learn practical coping skills to manage your feelings and foster your emotional and spiritual growth.

Cherise is trained in various evidence-based treatments, including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Exposure Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and is a Trauma-Informed Therapist. She integrates a holistic approach guiding individuals to make choices that align best with their therapeutic goals.

Cherise currently works full-time at UCSF Health in the Collaborative Care Model. She has served in innovative positions creating and implementing behavioral health programs to identify and reach gaps in patient care. This direct practice is her passion project to increase access to high quality, evidenced-based treatment that is free from judgement and respectful of diversity and inclusion.
