Djuna is particularly passionate about serving medical professionals, entrepreneurs, and other therapists. She also has advanced training in treating symptoms of anxiety and depression.
Djuna is trained in Intensive Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP), in which in a careful and kind way, she pays attention to you, moment by moment to understand how you relate to yourself and to others, what feelings are underneath your anxiety, what activates you and what patterns of relating and behavior cause chronic problems. This approach supports clients to be able to understand themselves better, know what triggers them and why and what to do about it when it happens, how to regulate their anxiety so they can return to their calm centered selves, understand the function of their symptoms such as depression, anxiety, avoidance, passivity, helplessness, aggression, anger outbursts, etc. so that they can intervene on their own behalf and build a happy healthy, existence for themselves.
Djuna's style is active, collaborative, kind, direct, and non-judgmental. Sessions focus on client's wishes and goals for themselves with an emphasis on collaboration of the task.
Djuna received her MSW from the University of South Carolina.
