Emily West is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social worker who specializes in working with young adults and their families. Her clients experience a range of concerns including depression, anxiety, loneliness, trauma, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, adjusting to life changes, problematic family dynamics, and generally feeling overwhelmed by life.
She believes that therapy is much more than just helping unhappy people be less unhappy. Therapy is about working together toward the contentment and happiness that can come through expanding our understanding and acceptance of ourselves. Emily was inspired to become a psychotherapist by her experiences with therapy and the profound changes it has helped bring about in her life and in the lives of others. Practicing psychotherapy is a privilege.
Emily practices integrative psychotherapy, drawing on approaches to therapy that complement and support one another. Her foundation is in Relational Psychotherapy and in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Each client is unique, and clients' needs often change throughout the course of therapy. Emily's integrative approach allows her the flexibility to meet clients where they are at any point in their work together.
Emily is currently offering in person and virtual appointments.
