Estee Hirsch is a licensed mental health counselor with post-graduate training in psychoanalysis and somatic experiencing. Estee specializes in individual and couples’ therapy, she is a staff therapist, high risk screener, and supervisor at the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy and maintains a full-time private practice in the financial district of Manhattan.
Estee's approach to therapy is primarily psychodynamic in nature. In her practice she takes the time to listen closely to her patients' needs and tailors sessions to meet her patients where they are. Her hope is that through the work her patients will gain a greater understanding of their past and its impact on their lives. Sessions will be spent working to increase her patient's self awareness while strengthening their capacity to fully engage with the world. A goal of treatment is for her patients to expand their window of tolerance by unpacking the feelings and thoughts that bring them discomfort, leading to more authentic and comprehensive life experiences.
Sessions are currently being conducted both online and in-person. Estee's office is conveniently located in the Financial district, across the street from Fulton Street station. It is easily accessible to the A, C, J, Z, 2, 3, 4, R, W and the PATH train.
