Professional statement

Gentry Gibson is a licensed clinical mental health counselor (LCMHC). She works with individual adults of all ages. Many of Gentry’s clients come in to address anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship difficulties, and career path changes.

Gentry is particularly passionate about serving young adults (18-35) who may find themselves at a crossroads of decision-making related to school, career path, relationships, and family or are experiencing other stressors in those areas of life. She has advanced training in the area of anxiety disorders (social anxiety, generalized anxiety, panic, and obsessive-compulsive disorder) and in leadership/career development, and she provides individuals with the support and tools to move into the activities and ways of being that they highly value.

Gentry’s approach is active, engaging, goal-oriented, and collaborative, and is informed by CBT, mindfulness, and existential-humanistic psychology. She believes that insight, skill-building, and the empathic therapeutic relationship can empower clients to reach their goals, improving well-being and unleashing the ability to thrive.

Message to clients

Our sessions will be a joint venture, and you will get to choose the topics, activities, and practices that are most supportive toward your goals. I think of therapy as an exchange in which I learn and refine my approach, too, and I will value your feedback on our time together. I look forward to meeting and spending time with you.
