George Koren is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor in the State of New Jersey and licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the State of Nevada. George has worked with adults, young adults and older adults in areas of intellectual disability, addiction, emotional issues, anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, and pain over a period of approximately fifty years in out patient and inpatient settings in both group and individual therapy.
George utilizes a client or person centered approach with a focus on coping with the present moment with mindfulness and relaxation based activities. He additionally utilizes a cognitive-behavioral or rational emotive behavioral approach as well as being trauma informed.
Each client is seen and interacted with as a unique individual person and human being ultimately capable of doing their own personal healing. George has learned over years of practice that the most important quality that he brings to the therapeutic relationship is simply fully being there with an undivided presence.
