Message to clients

I've worked with many folks who often do not understand why they work until they burn out, continuously people-please, and strive for perfection which leads to procrastination and dissatisfaction in themselves. As a second-generation immigrant, I know how hard it is to break these intergenerational cycles but our work starts with honest introspection of what's worked and what hasn't. You may be interested in learning more, so definitely fill out a contact form, and we can schedule a free 15-minute consultation to best assess your needs.

I provide a non-judgmental space to explore behavioral patterns, improve your reactions to stress, and enhance your ability to maintain healthy relationships. Clients obtain tools, tactical skills, and clarity on how to move forward. My job is to walk alongside you on your path - to help you understand yourself better, work on critical life skills, and break free from the same mental hurdles that have stifled those of generations past.

I provide a seamless experience for those who may or may not have been to therapy before. Everything is made simple by the use of the client portal, and everything nowadays can be completed electronically. Specialties

Asian Identity and Mental Health - Celebrating the Asian Diaspora and learning coping strategies to balance Eastern and Western ideals. Often, Asian Americans are split by these two worlds - navigate being in-between and accepting the pros/cons of both. Living in the US and experiencing racial trauma also presents unique challenges that lead to burnout, low self-worth, and internalized racism.

Anxiety - Coping with excessive worry, nervousness, or stress generally. Intense discomfort in social settings (social anxiety). Sudden and intense feelings of panic (panic disorder). Existential dread and a feeling of being overwhelmed in a society that's too much all the time. Anxiety can lead people to be unable to perform - academically, socially, and relationally.

Depression - Providing strategies to combat hopelessness, low motivation and energy, sadness, irritability, sleep disturbance, and loss of interest and pleasure in life. Behavioral activation and fully engaging in your life lead to increased energy and self-efficacy. Combat automatic negative thoughts and low self-esteem with skills to challenge one's rumination.

Trauma - Coping and healing after threatening or scary events, such as witnessing accidents or experiencing sexual, verbal, emotional, or physical abuse. Traumatic events lead to flashbacks, avoidance of life, and a general feeling of anxiety. Additionally, Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (C-PTSD) can negatively impact your perception of the world. Repeated adverse events, such as emotional abuse and neglect can lead to a constant critical voice, a low self-worth, and consistent self-doubt.

Relationship issues - Understanding one’s wants and needs in relationships; exploring patterns of interaction, addressing concerns, and strengthening satisfaction in relationships and dating. Focusing on the resolution of differences in the relationship and conflicts that arise as a result. Assertiveness skills and effective problem-solving.

Men's Mental Health - While not my sole focus, I've had a lot of experience assisting men in discovering their core values in a society that tells them to be too many things all at once. Men are 70-80% of my caseload at any given time. I'm passionate about helping men strengthen their resolve and form deeper relationships. Techniques and tactics to problem-solve while building metacognitive skills and emotional intelligence.
