Professional statement

Dr. Jane Floyd, a Clinical Psychologist is located in Chapel Hill, NC. Dr. Floyd specializes in helping clients struggling with emotional pain and to understand how one's thinking and behaviors are often linked together. If we "think" we are a failure, we find ways to validate that thinking. Working from a place of uncovering your strengths, we work together to decrease challenging symptoms and find fulfillment, growth and joy in life.

Many of Dr. Floyd’s clients have experienced traumatic events, the loss of a loved one, or are struggling with life and career transitions. Dr. Floyd aids in providing tools and to identify actions to cope with these changes. Her approach to therapy stems from the mind-body connection utilizing evidence-based approaches and believes that healing occurs in ones emotional and physical aspects of life. Through her teaching and collaborating with clients, you will begin to implement effective self-care strategies, increase resiliency and grow in your capacity to cope with challenges.

Additionally, she works together with clients to identify and decrease negative patterns in your life. Her goal is to instill a sense of personal growth. Life will inevitably present challenges yet a challenge can be viewed as a catalyst for healthy change. Dr. Floyd earned her MA and PsyD from Argosy University and completed a two-year post-doctoral fellowship at Duke Integrative Medicine. She describes this time as one in which she fully learned the value of treating the "whole person" and has experience supporting clients across a wide variety of clinical settings.

Before becoming a psychologist, she worked in the technology and organizational change field for many years. From her life experiences, she brings an approachable, warm style to sessions with clients.

Message to clients

Hello! Thank you for taking the first and sometimes most difficult step - seeking support when things are just not going right in your life. What brings you here today, may be a struggle with anxiousness or a sadness that just won't go away. Perhaps there have been challenges, that in the past you have been able to handle, but this time its been too difficult. Seeking help, guidance, a neutral and trained perspective may be just what you need as you navigate life. You don't need to struggle alone. My hope and goal in our work together is to collaborate, focus and help you move your life forward. We will begin with a complimentary brief phone call which allows us to get to know each other - for you to ask me questions about our work and for me to learn about you and what brings you in for treatment at this time. Having that connection has proven to aid in our longer term success. Following that call, we will establish a plan for what and how we can work together .. we take steps together which is an honor. At this time, I am seeing patients in the office two days a week and telehealth the balance of the time. Thank you for allowing me to join with you at this phase of your life journey. Lets begin!
