Professional statement

Jason Sackett, LCSW, PCC, CEAP is the accomplished professional's go-to therapist. Unlike most therapists in private practice, Jason has been providing psychotherapy and executive coaching services within the workplace environment--including university, corporate, and health care settings--for over 15 years. His clients tend to be talented and well-educated, including physicians, dentists, and health care administrators; software engineers, programmers, and IT managers; business, finance, and investment executives; attorneys and HR professionals; and tenured professors, research scientists, and engineers. People tend to seek out Jason for help overcoming work-related stress, conflict (professional and interpersonal), sudden loss of confidence followed by anxiety, career burnout, relationship issues, challenges with motivation and productivity, and performance-related issues. He is especially helpful to individuals who hope to gain better outcomes in their careers or need to make major decisions about their future.

To maximize his clients' outcomes, Jason has developed specialized expertise in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction including biofeedback. In less technical terms, he's a really good listener, has a deep toolbox of skills (and a generous spirit to share them), remembers everything his clients say, and puts those skills to good use in providing them a great experience and facilitating new insights and solutions.

Jason's practice is 100% virtual, and has been for years. He can provide clinical services to anyone physically residing in California, and he provides coaching services worldwide. He can also provide in-person consultations in Los Angeles by special arrangement.

Message to clients

If you are looking for a personable but results-driven therapist with unique insights about the world of work, you found him. If you are challenged with conflict, stress, anxiety, low confidence, low motivation, or performance lapses, then you came to the right place.

Fun facts about me:

* I am non-judgmental and empathic by nature, so people feel safe and comfortable with me

* I have a near-eidetic memory for people's stories, so my clients feel seen, understood, and accepted

* People often feel their energy raised whenever I'm around; I honestly don't plan this, it just happens

* I am a dragon-slayer of imposter syndrome, self-criticism, and conflict avoidance

* I absolutely love what I do and look forward to every single session, every single day

* I'm a dog person, but a cat magnet

My therapeutic approach draws from acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), and mindfulness practices including HRV biofeedback training. I also help people discover and build on their natural strengths, and to make shifts in their thinking that decrease negative feelings and improve confidence. Essentially, I help people expand their thinking, and then design value-based actions to improve their lives. I also use EMDR/ bilateral stimulation to help super-charge strengths and positive thinking, and to reprocess negative past experiences. I view my clients as whole, with all the strengths and intelligence required to improve their lives, and only needing a thought partner/ stimulator and maybe a few tools to succeed.
