Jeannie Elder(She/Her/Hers)

Jeannie Elder is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who specializes in working with creative individuals, including actors, singers, authors and other artists, members of the LGBTQIA community, and individuals with an eating disorder, including bulimia, anorexia, and binge eating. She also has extensive experience in treating anxiety, depression, and sexual harassment and assault.

Jeannie takes an eclectic approach that utilizes elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness practices, Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), Psychodynamic Therapy, and Relational Therapy. She is also a practitioner of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Jeannie believes in helping clients make behavioral changes while also exploring the root of these issues and where they stem from. She takes a collaborative approach, frequently working closely with nutritionists and psychiatrists, to ensure all of her clients’ needs are being met.

Jeannie provides a safe space where her clients can feel comfortable sharing their most intimate feelings and fears. She has received training at the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy, including completing a two-year comprehensive eating disorder program and a program geared towards working with LGBTQIA clients.
