Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSWHe/Him/His
Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSWJesse Kauffman (LCSW) works with non-linear thinkers searching for a therapist with intuitive wisdom who cherishes the divergent path. He specializes in connecting with people who are neurodivergent and have always felt different even if others couldn't tell.
His clients are notoriously curious and adept improvisors, who are playfully creative, but they still feel perpetually out-of-sync with the world around them. They charm others with their insight and levity, and save the biting criticisms for themselves. So they end up feeling like anxious imposters, waiting to be exposed.
Acquiescing to others has helped his clients get by without too many catastrophes, but deep down they can't keep convincing themselves that they're okay with just getting by. There's a deeper itch that's beckoning them into an alternative way of being. Yes, still different, but personal, integrated, aligned with their soul.
Jesse approaches therapy as the life-changing work that it is, and while there's a serious commitment to exploring one's psyche, it doesn't mean Jesse or his clients are required to take themselves too seriously. Excavating one's own lived experience and the difficulty of navigating a world not built for you is not for the faint of heart, yet Jesse's clients continue to be curious, adapt, and play.
Jesse is intentional in creating and holding space for clients to find and share a more authentic version of themselves. Clients are well-met when they bring curiosity about their distinct approach to life, courage to speak what has been left unsaid, and compassion to nurture a deeper truth about themselves.
ADHD - Neurodivergence is so misunderstood, even in the therapy world. There are so many benefits to having an ADHD brain, but you still live in a world that tells you otherwise. We'll dig into how your specific brain works and develop tools that empower you to adapt beyond our work together. Imagine what your life will look like with strategies that support your unique mind.
Identity development - How are you not yourself? It's a simple yet profound question to consider. Between the people in your life who are ready to give you their take and the predominate cultural messages you navigate, it's no wonder why finding the answer can feel so complicated. We can hold space for finding the multi-dimensional answer that is authentically you.
Anxiety - The worry, urgency, and anticipation has kept you safe and helped you accomplish a lot, until it got twisted and now its interfering. I know the slowing down can feel daunting, but re-connecting with your agency, power, and own nervous system can bring back the safety you're seeking.
Work stress - Work occupies SO much of our time and energy, and when it's a stressful situation we are living in that stress full-time. Dysfunctional leadership, poor work culture, busted team dynamic, or just feeling unfulfilled? We can talk about it all and then sort out the strategic steps that will honor your time, energy, and vision of your professional future.
