Professional statement

Be yourself - everyone else is taken! My practice focuses on people struggling with depression, relationships, self-esteem, trauma, and anxiety. These often manifest as difficulties in romantic, social, and work success. I help my clients feel better about themselves, less alone, and more capable of loving and being loved. My clients end up feeling more comfortable in their own skins and engage in life, work, and relationships with greater confidence.

I practice in a warm, related manner that facilitates growth, compassion and genuine self-expression. I have extensive training and experience in psychodynamic (insight-oriented), attachment, somatic/emotion-focused (AEDP), IFS, and mindfulness-based ways of working. In our work together I will tailor and apply that knowledge to what works best for you.

Your personality and needs are unique, so it’s important to find a therapist who is the right fit for you and your goals. To help you make your choice I offer a complimentary phone or video consultation session to see if we are a good match and provide you guidance on next steps.

Message to clients

Dr. Reich received his doctorate in psychology from Pace University in New York City and went on to receive advanced postdoctoral training in Interpersonal Psychoanalytic therapy from the William Alanson White Institute on the Upper West Side of New York. Dr. Reich has further advanced training in Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) from the AEDP Institute in New York, NY. He has also received specialized trauma training at the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, New York State's Office of Mental Health, and New York City's Health and Hospital system.

Dr. Reich works from psychodynamic, interpersonal, attachment, and emotion-focused (AEDP) perspectives.
