Karen Conlon is the Founder of Cohesive Therapy NYC. Many of her clients are living with anxiety, underlying trauma or having difficulties with low-self-esteem or perfectionism. Her approach to therapy is collaborative and combines traditional talk therapy with science-based techniques that are meant to help you create long- lasting changes. Clients learn how become aware of how the ways in which they think about certain situations, and learn how their feelings are also impacting their behavior.
Karen is passionate about the relationship between neuroscience and anxiety, and working with her will often result in gaining much more than just therapy. Her clients gain insightful knowledge, real understanding of how their triggers affect them and specific techniques to better manage and cope. Her approach is to work with you to understand your life's barriers and help you to improve coping strategies/skills through conversational, creative therapy.
She earned her Masters of Social Work from New York University and is passionate about continuing education. Her passion and high standards for continued learning in the therapy space is evident from her extensive earned and on-going certification trainings in Disorders of Gut Brain Interaction, Clinical Anxiety Treatment, Brainspotting, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused-CBT, Hypnosis, to name some. She is also a trained New York State Licensed Clinical Social Worker and published author, sought out subject expert and hosts the "So, How's Therapy?" podcast.
