Professional statement

Kelly LaPorta is a mental health professional in Scottsdale, Arizona. Kelly is passionate about helping adults create their most meaningful life and actualize their potential. She helps clients work through anxiety, depression, relationship issues, life stressors, and other blocks that are keeping them unfulfilled and stuck. Kelly uses an attachment and nervous system based lens in her work with clients utilizing interventions from Polyvagal Theory, Organic Intelligence, Attachment Theory, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy. Kelly believes in a holistic approach to treatment, and focuses her treatment on healing the mind, body, and emotional self.

Kelly has had experience working in community based settings as well as private practice. She began her career working as a school based therapist in Van Nuys, California with at-risk children and teens, and has since worked with many different populations (including distressed couples, LGBTQ clients, struggling parents, entrepreneurs, postpartum moms). The population she currently serves is young adults and adults (ages 21-50), however she leaves a few spots in her practice open for struggling adolescent girls who need support/therapy.

Currently Kelly offers in person and zoom sessions to Arizona residents, and zoom-only sessions to California residents. Her office is located off of Shea and the 101 in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Message to clients

Wouldn't it be helpful if we were all born with a beginners manual that taught us how to live our most fulfilled, authentic and joyful life? Instead, most of us are just figuring out life as we go, often functioning on auto-pilot with no awareness of why we do the things we do. Therapy is a place to begin the process of exploration, healing, and self actualization - of becoming the person you were meant to be. It would be my joy to walk alongside you on this journey, and to provide warmth, support, and tools that will help you and create a meaningful life.

As an attachment based therapist, I place great value on the therapeutic relationship and the quality of our connection/rapport. I make it a priority to create a place where you feel seen, safe and have your needs taken seriously.

Here’s what you can expect in our work together:

-Clarity around the blocks that are interfering with your ability to thrive. A tailored plan of action unique to you and your specific goals, strengths, and circumstances.

-Increased capacity to navigate emotional, cognitive, and relational complexities. Therapy that prioritizes the most recent and up to date research on attachment, nervous system regulation, cognition, and effective mindfulness practices.

-A guide (me!) that will actively partake in this journey with you; supporting you, encouraging you, and emboldening you as you begin stepping into the life you desire most.
