Lakisha Fulmore(She/Her/Hers)

Lakisha Fulmore is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor located in New York. Lakisha is passionate about providing culturally-responsive therapy services to clients who seek help with their anxiety, depression, parenting issues, and more. Many of Lakisha’s clients are women who want support as they navigate life transitions, including at school, work, in the family, and with friends. Often, past experiences with trauma can lead to previously-dormant symptoms during times of change. Lakisha supports clients as they navigate their feelings and make healthy changes.

Lakisha’s approach to therapy draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Clients learn how to reflect on their thought processes, including those that are harmful to their health. These thought patterns can include assumptions, judgments, and harsh self-criticisms. Lakisha helps clients replace these thoughts with healthier alternatives that often result in a less distressing mood or decreased unhealthy behaviors. Lakisha’s goal is to empower clients to live authentically, with self-accountability, and with self-compassion.

Lakisha earned a Master’s degree from Brooklyn College. She has extensive experience working across different mental health settings, which gives her an expertise in working with clients who come to therapy for diverse reasons.
