Professional statement

Leslie Miller is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker located in Newton, MA. Leslie specializes in helping individuals who have been emotionally impacted by relational trauma as well as with women struggling with anxiety, depression, health issues, caregiver stress, narcissistic abuse, and physical health and wellbeing. Many of her clients find themselves stuck in relationships that devastate their mental and physical health, leaving them to feel overwhelmingly anxious and emotionally and physically exhausted. Many clients struggle with being in a chronic state of fight or flight which impacts their sense of safety and wellbeing as well as their energy levels and overall health.

Leslie’s approach to therapy is restorative and trauma-informed, meaning that she has additional training in working with clients who suffer from the aftereffects of traumatic experiences. She creates a safe, non-judgemental, supportive environment for clients. She is trained in EMDR Therapy and Trauma-informed Yoga (RYT-200). She utilizes mindfulness and yoga/movement therapy when appropriate as she believes that movement can help restore and heal the mind and body.

Leslie earned a Master’s degree in Social Work from Fordham University. She has over 25 years of experience helping clients restore their sense of wellbeing emotionally and physically so that they can thrive.

Message to clients

It's a privilege to be part of your healing journey and I'm glad you are here seeking help. It's important to know that almost everyone experiences trauma at some point in their life. More commonly though is trauma that is experienced chronically when we grow up in chaotic, unpredictable or neglectful, abusive homes. Possibly you were a held to high standards of perfectionism or caretaking of siblings or parents. Unresolved trauma can be stored in the body, out of our awareness resulting in emotional dysregulation (feeling triggered), disordered eating, anxiety issues or chronic fatigue/health issues.

Let's work together to restore your energy, heal from anxiety, poor self-care/boundaries and past trauma.
