Professional statement

Dr. Linda Hoffman is a licensed psychologist located in Los Angeles, CA. Dr. Hoffman specializes in working with individuals in the entertainment industry, including musicians, screenwriters, producers, actors, agents, directors, crews, personal assistants, and more. As a former producer and development executive, Dr. Hoffman adapts her therapy approach with an understanding of the ups and downs of this industry and the way that this line of work impacts a person’s self-identity, confidence, ideas of success, artistic ability, and connection with others.

In psychotherapy, Dr. Hoffman provides a confidential, comfortable space for individuals to talk about their thoughts, feelings, and dreams. She offers different perspectives for consideration and notes the patterns that she hears to engage clients in introspection and reflection. She encourages clients to tap into their inner wisdom, do more of what is already working, and develop strategies to change behaviors that lead to problems. She also has a special interest in helping people understand and realign their nervous system responses using a combination of somatic interventions and EMDR. As a compassionate, relatable therapist, Dr. Hoffman empowers clients to prioritize their mental health and take care of themselves in the face of busy everyday lives.

Dr. Hoffman is also a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor and has a separate coaching practice where she works with clients who would like to develop a healthy relationship with food and movement, especially those who are ready to give up dieting. Coaching clients learn to listen to their bodies and use their innate wisdom to guide choices about food and movement.

Dr. Hoffman earned her PsyD from the California School of Professional Psychology, where she had a focus on multicultural care. She is currently a faculty member at the University of Southern California. She is passionate about helping successful people find balance and meaning.

Message to clients

As a former entertainment industry professional, I know that your work isn’t just a job. It’s a passion. A calling. And a lifestyle. It can be an all-consuming quest to get to the top and stay on top, and it’s all too easy to lose your sense of self in the process. We’ll work together to identify and change the things that have gotten in the way of living a life with greater balance and deeper meaning.
