Professional statement

Linda Marie Snell is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor with a practice in Laguna Niguel and Carlsbad. Over the past 8+ years, she has worked with a diverse population of all ages but has found her niche among couples, adults, emerging adults. Linda specializes in helping clients work through past or recent trauma, difficulties in relationships and parenting, substance abuse, including alcohol dependence or general drinking concerns, and mood disorders.

Clients seek Linda’s support when their emotional challenges have evolved into a daily hindrance, manifesting in symptoms like underlying dread, self loathing, lack of motivation and/or emotional disregulation. Others experience sacrificing their own wants and needs in order to please family and friends, but aren’t sure how to establish and maintain stronger boundaries due to a lack of self efficacy and autonomy. Whatever the struggle Linda engages her clients in a collaborative journey to explore whether the expectations one has been adhering to works for them.

Linda understands the importance of emotional safety, attunement, therapeutic alliance, and strives to provide a space in which each client feels understood and secure expressing thoughts, emotions, and disagreements as they arise. She invites you to reach out via email or schedule a free phone consultation to assess fit, and looks forward to hearing more about your personal journey.

Message to clients

Is it scary to show up as the real you? "Don't look for someone who will solve all your problems look for someone who won't let you face them alone." I can throw a lot of clinical terminology at you, but my specialty is to learn what is hurting you at the core and speak a language you understand that aids you in your healing journey. Trauma, substance use, interpersonal conflict, grief and loss, and mood disregulation can trap us in the past with regret/shame or have us experience feelings of fear and anxiety; we can become inhibited and isolated. Do you feel you need more to overcome your struggles? Do you desire wisdom? I believe we are not handed wisdom; we must discover wisdom for ourselves after embarking on a journey that no one can take for us or spare us from. I welcome the opportunity to partner with you-therapy is that journey to obtaining wisdom. I will provide a safe space enabling you to relax your nervous system so that you can experience transformation, which is leaving old ways behind to venture into cultivating new ways.

"You cannot go back and change the beginning but you can start where you are and change the ending." CS Lewis
