Dr. Lisa Kantor is a Clinical Psychologist with offices online and in Newton Centre, MA. She specializes in helping clients navigate difficult life transitions and challenging life events. She works with adults across the lifespan, especially those individuals who may be in some distress, but who are motivated to live their best lives.
Integrating insight-oriented therapy and coaching, she works with a range of concerns, including: relationships, parenting and step-parenting issues, college adjustment, job or career change, as well as lifecycle transitions, such as dealing with an empty nest after children have grown, reassessing work-life balance at mid-life, adjusting to new family structures (marriage, re-marriage, divorce), caring for aging parents, and optimizing life at retirement. She especially enjoys working with young adults in college, men and women in early career and mid-life, couples working to strengthen their relationship, and older adults managing empty nests and retirement.
As a psychologist and a coach, Dr. Kantor integrates the use of inquiry, insight and creative problem-solving along with thoughtful self-reflection, hands-on homework assignments, and honest conversation. In addition, Dr. Kantor also makes use of some cognitive behavioral and mindfulness techniques. She aims to help her clients direct their lives with more awareness, self-compassion, and deliberate intention, while also helping her clients consider how past experiences and beliefs might be interfering with living their lives optimally.
Often in the midst of transitions and challenges, new and more satisfying outcomes unfold. Dr. Kantor deeply commits to being a thought partner, an ally, and a confidential resource for individuals looking to grow from the past and deliberately move into an enriching future.
Dr. Kantor works with clients in person, as well as remotely via video call and by phone.
