Professional statement

Meg Young is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Registered Yoga Teacher, specializing in working with first responders (including 911 dispatchers), medical professionals (including other therapists, nurses, doctors), and court professionals (including probation and parole officers). However, she offers her services to all adults dealing with trauma, PTSD, secondary trauma, burnout, anxiety and imposter syndrome.

Anxiety and trauma are historically difficult to treat as traditional therapeutic approaches neglect to focus on the body. Research over the past several years has shown that trauma and anxiety are also held in the body. In order for approaches to be effective, therapy must include a mind/body approach. Meg offers that through techniques such as EMDR, EFT tapping, and trauma informed yoga.

Meg's office is in Lakewood Ranch, Florida. She is licensed in Florida and Connecticut and offers HIPAA compliant video sessions to adults in Florida or Connecticut and in person sessions to adults in Lakewood Ranch.

Meg's certifications include being EMDR Certified through EMDRIA, Certified Clinical Trauma Professional Level 2 (CCTP-II) through the International Association of Trauma Professionals, and being a Board-Certified Telemental Health provider. She is a member of the International Association of Trauma Professionals (IATP), member of NASW, member of EMDRIA, and a volunteer for EMDR-HAP as well as Tidewell Hospice.

Contact Meg today for a free consultation and start your journey towards healing and finally living the life you so deeply crave!

Message to clients

Since you’ve landed here, I know you are struggling hard every day to keep your head above water. You’ve been coping, barely holding on for a long time. It took a lot of strength to even come this far. You’re terrified of being seen as weak or that you failed, but the effects of your job are causing internal and external chaos at this point. I’m here to tell you you are not weak and have not failed. You are completely normal and just need some help getting your life back where you want it.

The therapeutic relationship is one of the most intimate and important relationships you may enter into. My approach may or may not be the right one for you and it is always my goal to help you reach your goals. That means if we are not the right fit for each other, I will help you find someone who you can feel more comfortable with.

I look forward to helping you reach your goals in whatever way I can do that for you.
