Professional statement

As both a licensed psychologist and BCBA, Dr. Pesca specializes in the areas of anxiety and stress management, life transitions, interfering behaviors and parenting challenges. She sees individuals with generalized and specific anxiety, OCD, perfectionism, ADHD, skill deficits, and a wide range of childhood behavioral issues. Dr. Pesca sees children, teens, and adults, and also welcomes family sessions.

With over 20 years of experience in the field of developmental disabilities, Dr. Pesca places strong emphasis on the development of social, coping, and problem-solving skills. She utilizes behavioral, cognitive-behavioral (CBT and ACT), and mindfulness-based approaches in her practice. Dr. Pesca works with her clients to actively identify and work through their current environmental barriers, and to change unproductive response patterns.

Dr. Pesca provides a warm and nonjudgemental environment for clients to work on their therapeutic goals. Her sessions are individually tailored to support each client as they work toward building and maintaining the life they visualize.

Dr. Pesca attended Binghamton University, Queens College, and the CUNY Graduate Center. Her office is conveniently located off of Veteran's Highway in Holbrook. In addition to private practice, Dr. Pesca is an adjunct professor in the Child Study department at St. Joseph's College.

Message to clients

When you begin therapy, you begin the path to wellness and leading the life you visualize. I believe that therapy should be a solution-oriented and collaborative process, where the goals are measurable and the intervention is research-based. Your values will directly impact the development of these goals and we will review progress at scheduled points to ensure you are comfortable and benefiting from the therapeutic process.
