Professional statement

Social identities inform how people experience the world—and how the world perceives them—because everyone exists within larger systems of oppression and power.

Natalie is a bilingual, Latinx social worker and psychotherapist who works with young adults exploring what their race, ethnicity, gender, and sexuality mean to them. Some of her clients are also experiencing anxiety and depression, adjusting to new environments, or improving their communication with loved ones.

During sessions, Natalie combines her knowledge of psychodynamic theory, emotionally focused therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy with an anti-oppressive lens to help clients better understand how they can use their strengths to navigate everyday life. By creating a trauma-informed space, Natalie works with clients to facilitate growth and break free from the impacts of systemic discrimination.

Message to clients

Throughout our time together, we’ll unpack how systems of power impact the way you think, feel, and act. From there, we’ll collaborate to challenge internalized belief systems and build your strengths so you can heal, achieve liberation, and stand proud in your identity.

We are all drawn to therapy for a variety of reasons. Maybe we're navigating a new time in our life, exploring our relationships with others, or figuring out what it means to be ourselves. There's no right or wrong way to "do therapy." You've already made the toughest decision: to look for a therapist. Feel free to reach out and schedule a free phone consultation. I look forward to hearing from you!
