Professional statement

Nathaniel is a licensed marriage and family therapist based in New York. He has 7 years of combined clinical training and experiences working with families, couples and individuals in child welfare, juvenile justice and private practice settings. He brings the fullness of his vocational experiences to bear in service of his clients.

Nathaniel’s approach to therapy is strategic, collaborative and solution-focused. He demonstrates precision and care by partnering with his clients to craft time-limited plans for treatment within the first 2-3 sessions. Clear goals and objectives for collaboratively monitoring treatment progress ensure his clients feel affirmed, enriched, empowered and capable as a result of their time spent working with him.

In addition to being well-versed in the delivery of strength-based, compassionate care, Nathaniel specializes in aiding clients who desire the incorporation of Christian faith into their therapeutic pursuit of mental health. His perspective on mental health is integrative and holistic, acknowledging the significance of faith, how it shapes perspective when navigating emotional and relational experiences, and by extension, quality of life.

Message to clients

I believe holistic wellness is both a practice and a pursuit, emerging from relationships and experiences that allow us to be and feel increasingly seen, known, understood and appreciated. I also believe holistic wellness can be practiced and pursued through the work of therapy, so long as the work is collaborative, honest and client-centered. I therefore work best with clients who have a clear initial treatment focus, and are looking to fully invest in the process of therapy with the understanding that commitment and engagement are necessary ingredients of not only a meaningful therapeutic experience, but a meaningful life.

As your therapist, we'll examine how the quality of your relationships impact your quality of life. By exploring how your thoughts, feelings, beliefs and practices inform the ways you navigate relationships - from clarifying values to identifying boundaries - we'll gain a clearer understanding of how your life has been organized, decisively intervening when and where changes are needed. Put simply, I'll help you:

- Develop insights that extend from your immediate life circumstances to their developmental roots.

- Cultivate your ability to reliably predict outcomes based on your decisions.

- Engage in emotionally-corrective experiences that enable necessary changes to occur.

Please reach out to schedule a consultation, and let's see about working together. Have a great day!
