Professional statement

Neha Chawla is a Licensed Psychoanalyst and Art Therapist based in Brooklyn, New York where she welcomes individuals who are seeking to work through the challenges that have been intruding upon their personal and professional growth.

Having served as a therapist in multiple settings from mental health clinics, hospitals, schools, universities and hospice, Neha is uniquely skilled in working with stress, depression or anxiety relating to work pressures, career conflicts, unhealthy relationships patterns, parenting challenges, creative blocks, loss/grief, traumatic experiences, illness (chronic or terminal) or any other challenges (past or present).

Therapy sessions with Neha are both deeply insight-oriented and skills-based. She is trained to utilize various techniques (psychodynamic, psychoanalytic, mindfulness etc.) in a seamlessly integrative manner. She believes that in order to bring about enduring change and contentment we must be willing to explore ourselves multidimensionally. Not only should we attend to the symptoms and challenges that intrude upon our state of being but also attempt to understand with depth, their place of origin. She customizes treatment according to the needs of the individual which is of the utmost importance to her.

Being a Fellow and Member of the International Psychoanalytical Association, Neha is committed to maintaining a diverse and inclusive practice by creating a safe and meaningful space for all individuals with a wide range of backgrounds, experiences and life challenges. She currently offers the flexibility of remote therapy sessions and welcomes new clients to her online practice.
