Professional statement

Peter Lo is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in Chino Hills, CA, who works with individuals across the lifespan, with a focus on clients who suffer from mental health and addiction. Many of his clients have careers and families, but struggle to feel connected in their relationships, emotions and unhealthy self medicate with substances in their daily lives. Peter is particularly sensitive to clients facing moments of adversity such as job loss, relationship issues and deciding to change lifestyle.

Peter’s approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, an evidence-based approach that focuses on helping clients understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected, so that they can begin to make targeted change. He works to help clients understand their physical response to external stressors, and begin to problem-solve ways to introduce moments of calm, to choose to respond rather than react in impulsivity.
