Professional statement

Rob is a psychotherapist (LCSW) licensed in New York and Connecticut. He works with adolescents struggling with the social and emotional toll brought on or amplified by the pandemic, adults, couples and families struggling with anxiety and depression, relationship issues, workplace problems or simply looking for growth and change. He has seven years of experience providing psychotherapy, and has worked with individuals, couples and families dealing with anxiety, depression, substance use disorders, trauma, and physical/verbal/emotional abuse.

His approach is humanistic and person-centered. He is experienced in evidence-based practices (Cognitive-Behavioral therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction to name a few.) He believes everybody is unique and tailors his approach to meet specific needs.

He actively works to help his clients better understand their thoughts and feelings so they can make the necessary changes for a happier, more fulfilling life.

Message to clients

I am so honored you are considering reaching out to me and taking the first step in what can feel like a scary direction. My goal as a therapist is simple: I want to help you feel comfortable and confident by just being yourself. I believe that is ultimately the cure for what ails us. When we are trying to impress, or plan out how we are going to be, or are trying to project an idealized version of ourselves, we are not being ourselves.

Learning to "just be yourself" means understanding what is getting in the way, the expectations others have for you, your own (potentially unrealistic) expectations, your need to please, and of course, the ultimate dragon to slay, your self-doubts. I promise that this is not only possible, but actually quite attainable. I look forward to helping you get there!
