Psychologist, PsyDDr. Ryan McGillicuddy is a clinical psychotherapist and post-doctoral fellow at Center Focused Therapy, located in Chicago, Illinois. He works with adults and young adults who have been impacted by past or ongoing adverse experiences and difficult life transitions. He approaches therapy from a collaborative approach with clients, which is rooted in trust and acceptance. Dr. McGillicuddy practices from a relational and psychodynamic framework and strives to also incorporate a wide variety of therapeutic techniques and interventions to meet his client's specific needs in treatment.
Dr. McGillicuddy has experience working in university counseling and inpatient settings. Through these experiences, he has worked with a wide variety of mental health concerns such as complex trauma, grief and loss, relationship and family of origin concerns, depression, and anxiety. Dr. McGillicuddy also works with individuals who are looking to explore their sexual orientation or gender identity, and has a passion for helping clients impacted by eating and body image concerns, particularly with men along with sexual and gender minorities.
