Ryoko Moriguchi is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist with a private practice in San Francisco Mission District. She works with adult clients who are dealing with PTSD, depression, anxiety, and complex PTSD. Her clients come from all walks of their lives, and they are all dealing with symptoms and signs of PTSD or other trauma related issues such as emotional pain, relationship difficulties, and addiction.
Ryoko incorporates Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) into her clinical practice. Ryoko was first trained in EMDR in 2017, and she became certified as a EMDR therapist by the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA) in 2020. As an EMDR therapist, she feels honored and humbled to witness many of her clients experience significant relief from their trauma symptoms and develop healthy perspectives about themselves and hope for their future in therapy.
Ryoko is also versed with various other trauma informed therapy models. She does a thorough assessment with each client, explain every step of the therapy process, and make her professional recommendations. At the same time, Ryoko believes that her clients are the ones who should have control over their therapy and make their own decisions as to how to proceed.
As a bilingual and bicultural therapist, Ryoko is committed to maintaining an inclusive practice. Her therapy style is down to earth, active, non-judgmental and intuitive. She believes that her curiosity and trust in clients’ own ability to heal are important ingredients in therapy.
