Professional statement

Do you feel that having a helping hand or simply an ear to listen may make things better? Have you noticed yourself withdrawing from others or experiencing more and more stress? Do you find yourself hoping that things will improve, but week to week things still aren't changing? I want to help.

I collaborate with my clients to develop goals and plans to meet those goals by working to understand what motivates you and pushes you to grow and change. I have a focus on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction.

I enjoy getting to know the real you, and understanding more about what motivates and encourages you. I place a high value on people following and practicing their passions, and always like to help encourage people to do what makes them truly happy. When we meet, we will talk about where you are at, where you want to be, and how we can work together to get you there. You deserve mental and emotional wellness just as much as anyone else - so if that sounds like what you need, please reach out to see if I am a good fit for you!

Message to clients

In our first session, you can expect to be asked quite a few questions about what brings you here and what you're looking for - but don't worry! These questions help me understand you and your situations and ultimately helps us to collaborate on identifying and planning for your goals.

Moving forward, I like to let you be in the driver's seat. Some weeks, you may just need to talk and vent; while, other weeks, I may be showing you new ways to cope or practice mindfulness - it depends on your needs and what you want out of our sessions.

I primarily focus on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, and Motivational Interviewing. I utilize a strengths based approach, where we work to make the most out of your best qualities to find solutions to your biggest hurdles.

I have experience working with people who are experiencing depression, anxiety, and stress - with a little more specialty specifically in substance use disorders and addiction. That being said, I also work with people who do not have a history of addiction, such as folks who are struggling with work concerns, grief, and overwhelming stress.
