Professional statement

Stephanie Bonza is a clinical psychologist in Chicago. She specializes in life transitions, anxiety, and relationship issues, including divorce and separation. In addition, she sees clients who are looking to confront unresolved past traumas that may be linked to feelings of guilt, anger, or shame.

No matter what the situation that brings each client to Stephanie, she takes an integrative, collaborative approach – often pulling from relational therapy – to ensure that each individual receives proper treatment and unwavering respect. She is also versed in trauma-informed care, and cultivates an environment that is warm, supportive, and engaging. Additionally, she emphasizes the benefits of practical skills-building, which sets clients up with tangible tools for their everyday stressors.

Message to clients

Healthy and rewarding relationships are the foundation of personal success and happiness. When we experience challenges in our relationships, we can develop underlying feelings of anxiety, hopelessness, shame, or self-doubt. My passion is empowering individuals, couples, and families to regain satisfaction in their relationships through assertive communication skill-building and effective strategies for coping with change and conflict. I believe that with the right support and guidance, everyone has the potential to find meaning and purpose and to create a life of authenticity and fulfillment.

I enjoy working with children and adults experiencing family conflict, stress and anxiety, women’s issues, men’s issues, and parenting challenges. The individuals and families I support are seeking to resolve issues related to divorce, discipline and behavior management issues, unresolved trauma, and communication problems.

My goal is to establish a genuine and supportive therapeutic relationship built on mutual respect and understanding. I enjoy collaborating with my clients using humor, honest feedback, and creativity to identify attainable goals and expectations. I invite you to visit my website or contact me if you think my style would be good fit for you or your family.
