Tomiko D. Mackey is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, licensed in both California and Mississippi. She works with preteens, adolescents and adults. Many of Tomiko’s clients have life experiences that interfere with their ability to be their full, authentic self. Together, she and her clients, work to alleviate any self-defeating thoughts and ideas so that clients can see there is room for amazing growth.

Tomiko’s integrative approach to therapy is tailored to meet the unique and specific needs of each client. This therapeutic style helps clients explore core beliefs about themselves and facilitates growth towards inner strength and resilience. Tomiko creates space for clients to believe and trust in themselves. She helps clients recognize how they respond to internal and external stressors while they navigate feelings of anxiety, depression, and/or childhood wounds.

To assist clients on their healing journey, Tomiko uses evidence-based therapies and is focused on ensuring that her clients experience actual progress. As a trauma-informed clinician, she draws from her training in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and ego state therapy to effect the change clients desire. Tomiko is committed to making sure that new clients feel like an equal partner in their healing journey while she fosters an environment in which all clients feel safe and heard.

Tomiko is a seasoned telehealth clinician and offers convenient appointment hours that allow for schedule flexibility and work/life balance. Tomiko welcomes new clients to her online, telemental health practice.
