The Expressive Arts group is facilitated by Mrs. Wanda Perry Josephs, M.Ed in Community Arts, Certification in Expressive Arts, Trauma, and Yoga. Mrs. Perry-Josephs is also a Teacher, vocalist, songwriter, and music producer who has more than 20 years of experience working in Boston Public Schools with children who are diagnosed with autism. Mrs. Josephs brings her extensive experience as a performer and a vocalist, as well as her previous experience as a Provider working with Women and Couples whom have been challenged by homelessness, drug abuse, domestic violence and other traumas.
Group Therapist
Ms. Yejide Muhammad is a Licensed Independent Provider located in the downtown area of Pawtucket Rhode Island. Ms. Muhammad began working as a service provider in Boston Massachusetts in 1993, and since that time she has served in multiple treatment settings throughout Massachusetts. Ms. Muhammad earned her Master's Degree in Education in the field of Counseling Psychology in the year 1998. Shortly thereafter, she earned a professional License to practice as an Independent Alcohol and Drug Counselor in the States of Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
Ms. Muhammad specializes in working with Women and Children, and she is passionate about serving Black women who have trauma specific to racism, as well as other truamas.
Ms. Muhammad has partnered with Black and Brown Male professionals to facilitate groups specific to males affected by the current racial crisis.
Ms. Muhammad is experienced in providing Therapy, and serving in the roles of Clinical Casemanger, Clinical Supervisor and Program Director. She has provided individual and group counseling including parenting, trauma, relapse prevention, anger management, and more. Ms. Muhammad uses a variety of therapeutic approaches including CBT, M. I., Relational, and Spirituality, when working with Participants and she understands that empathy, respect, and validation is essential to the healing process.
Ms. Muhammad has provided support, intervention, and education for participants who were challenged by homelessness, lack of income, legal involvement, substance use, depression, trauma, involvement with DCF, and other State agencies. Her clientele present requesting counseling and support either because they desire a change in their life, or because they are being mandated by a State agency. Ms. Muhammad is accepting of participants regardless of the source of referral and she believes that individuals can improve their qaulity of life, and achieve their goals with adequate treatment, resources, education, and support.
