Practice Information

At The Flatiron Center, we start with understanding who you are as a person and helping you understand yourself. We don’t focus solely on symptoms or behaviors, or on which therapy technique to apply. We view your difficulties as part of a bigger picture, informed by your personality, history and unique personal perspective. At TFC, we believe you’re not defined by your “symptoms.” On the contrary, understanding both your challenges and who you are as a person opens up new avenues for change.

Our approach is humanistic, holistic and evidence-based. We emphasize psychodynamic approaches, DBT, CBT and Mindfulness. We offer therapy in‑person in Manhattan or via tele-therapy to all residents of New York.

TFC hires only licensed professionals with excellent training and credentials. We seek out talented clinicians who are passionate about their work, eager to learn, and strongly aligned with our holistic and humanistic view of human nature and psychotherapy. We provide ongoing supervision, education, and peer support to help our therapists learn and grow, and always provide our clients with the best possible clinical care.

FAQS

What services does your practice offer?

The Flatiron Center for Psychotherapy is a full-service group practice in the Flatiron district of Manhattan that offers individual, couples and group therapy as well as emotional and personality assessment. Consistent with our holistic philosophy, we also work closely with psychiatrists and other wellness providers to ensure all of our clients receive comprehensive, integrated care.

What are your practice's specialties?

Our therapists specialize in treating anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma, personality disorders and a variety of other emotional difficulties. We have extensive experience with college students, recent grads and early career professionals. We also excel at working with executives, entrepreneurs, MDs, attorneys and others in high-stress, high-impact careers.

How does payment work at your practice?

Our fees range from $175 - $200 depending on the clinician. TFC is an out-of-network provider with all insurers, which means we do not accept payment directly from your insurance company but work closely with them to get you reimbursements for any out-of network benefits. Our automated system checks your eligibility and submits claims on your behalf to make this process easy and efficient.

Why should I choose your practice?

Our mission at The Flatiron Center is to provide the highest quality psychotherapy and psychological services to all of our clients. We hire only talented, experienced clinicians and give the training and support they need to do their best work. Our therapists are warm and supportive, but also honest and direct. We want to be active partners with you in addressing your concerns and finding new solutions.

We're a great fit for people who've never tried therapy before and don't know what to expect. We also excel with clients who may have tried therapy in the past, but feel it only partly addressed their issues. Even if you're not sure what's troubling you or how to describe it, that's totally okay. Come see us, we'll figure it out together.
