Misty Embrey(She/Her/Hers)

Dr. Misty Embrey is a Psychiatrist located in Alexandria, VA. Dr. Embrey supports children and adults through a holistic and integrative approach. Many of Dr. Embrey’s clients seek a better mind-body connection, as their mental health gets in the way of feeling physically and socially comfortable. They experience ADHD, PTSD, or grief that leads to compulsive behavior or increased stress levels at home and at work. They’re turning to therapy as a way to develop strategies to manage these emotions and experiences.

Dr. Embrey brings together traditional psychiatric treatment, including psychopharmacology when appropriate, and complementary interventions like homeopathy, yoga, and mindfulness practices. Clients benefit from structured psychotherapy with Dr. Embrey while also examining what lifestyle changes could help them feel more comfortable such as diet and exercise. Dr. Embrey’s goal is to help clients balance their minds, feelings, and spirits so they can feel engaged in their lives.

Dr. Embrey earned an MD from Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine. She completed her psychiatry residency at Johns Hopkins University. She individualizes her sessions for each client, offering them therapy that fits their needs and preferences so they can benefit from finding a different, more balanced way of living.
