Professional statement

I graduated with distinction from the University of Virginia as a Jefferson Scholar, where I studied English literature, philosophy, and music. After graduation, I began teaching public schools in New Orleans, Louisiana and Charlottesville, Virginia. I served as Chief Resident in Virginia Commonwealth University Health Systems' Department of Psychiatry.

I completed my consultation-liaison psychiatry fellowship at New York University, where I focused my expertise on psychiatric care of medically complicated patients in women's mental health, psychodynamic psychotherapy, emerging psychedelic medicine, neuropsychology, psycho-oncology, and I am board-certified in consult/liaison psychiatry.

I incorporate my knowledge of medicine and education, my passion for the artist's mind and the intersection of psyche, humor, and creativity.
