Professional statement

Abigail Bruntlett is a Licensed Professional Counselor located in Bend, OR. Abigail helps individuals who feel like their mental health causes interruptions in their relationships or their work lives. They suffer from anxiety or depression, which takes their emotional energy, leaving very little energy left for nurturing relationships. Some of Abigail’s clients find themselves isolating because of their mental health symptoms, including feelings of fear, sadness, or excessive worry. Others feel the physical toll of their mental health challenges and aren’t able to eat or sleep. This could be the result of a traumatic experience or the accumulation of painful memories, and it hinders feeling present and engaged in daily life.

Abigail’s goal is to give clients the tools they need to be introspective and to cope with any heavy emotions that arise. She comes to therapy without judgment and offers kind guidance as clients navigate their mental health. Clients learn how to become more aware of their emotions and reflect on the reasons why they feel that way. They also practice being more present and mindful, especially during interactions with others, so they can foster genuine connections. Abigail practices an evidence-based therapy called Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, which helps individuals move past difficult trauma. She also offers couples a therapy modality called the Gottman Method, which helps them grow their bonds so they can have a healthier relationship. All clients learn how to communicate more effectively and to find sustainable self-care practices.

Abigail earned a Master’s degree from the University of Oregon. She has nearly five years of experience working in the field of mental health and enjoys walking alongside her clients as they take powerful steps towards feeling more engaged in their own lives.
