Professional statement

Alison is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Portland, OR with experience as a private practitioner and an emergency room clinician. Alison works with adults across the lifespan, with a focus on LGBTQIA+, relationships, life transitions, mind-body connection, and emotional regulation.

Alison believes we are complex creatures, often in pain and feeling trapped by it. Alison believes that in order to cultivate an evolved sense of self, we can unwind the narratives that have been folded into our identity from societal expectations, family norms, and past experiences. This reshaping helps us understand our own foundation - intentionally, with empowerment. Using an interactive and strengths-based lens, Alison will help to challenge and shed parts that are not in alignment, in order to step into full embodiment of yourself.

The client-therapist relationship is sacred to Alison, and a strong tool for healing. Alison creates a safe, inclusive space, aware of systemic structures impacting your mental health, and the varied, unique interpersonal experiences arriving with you daily. With Narrative Therapy, Alison’s focus is supporting you in strengthening the parts of yourself that you long to awaken and reconnect with. Helping you unblock parts that hold onto limiting beliefs. With Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, she will assist you in pausing and catching yourself in automatic thoughts and reactions that create internal and external ruptures.

Alison believes that we already have the capacity we seek within us, and with Mindfulness Practice, we can deepen our self-soothing skills. Healing often comes from meeting ourself exactly where we are, with compassion and acceptance, while gently holding accountability for the changes we yearn to make.

Alison is honored to guide you in engaging proactively with your life, inspiring your fulfillment and ease.
