Professional statement

Amanda Landes is a Licensed Psychologist based in New York. She has experience in Queens, Long Island, Manhattan, and the Hudson Valley. She currently runs Ecdysis (pronounced ek—de-sis) Psychology, a telehealth practice that focuses on helping adults and adolescents address and overcome life challenges.

Amanda is trained in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), an evidenced based practice that focuses on the connections between one’s thoughts, feelings, and behavior. She utilizes additional techniques related to mindfulness and positive psychology to help clients identify their goals and work on the barriers that interfere with them meeting their goals.

Amanda’s typical clients begin therapy because of stressors resulting from the negative events that we all encounter in life; issues related to relationships, divorce, family struggles, work conflicts, sexual health, grief, loss, anxiety, fertility, and parenting are just some of the areas where clients benefit meeting with a neutral and forgiving party.

Clients who work with Amanda enjoy her individualized approach to treatment. They appreciate learning how improving self esteem and assertiveness can positively impact interpersonal relationships, while increasing happiness, and decreasing depression and anxiety.

Amanda looks forward to working with you!

Message to clients

Meeting with a therapist is an excellent way to make sure you are taking care of yourself.

People don’t always take the time to think about what they want out of life, and they spend even less time thinking they have the power to change what makes them unhappy. You do have the power to change, and you have the right to pursue happiness.

My practice aims to offer you the opportunity to better understand yourself and the people around you. Let me help you discover your best self through a partnership that allows you the mental space to identify and meet your goals.
