Corliss Porter is a Marriage & Family Therapist in Thousand Oaks, CA. Corliss works with adults who are experiencing a wide variety of issues including depression, anxiety, panic attacks, relationship difficulties, trauma, grief, and life transitions. Many of Corliss’ clients struggle with their day to day life and feel overwhelmed with their emotions and react to daily situations with heightened emotional responses such as anger, sadness, and insecurity. Her goal is to help clients find their inner strength and develop the skills they need to resolve difficulties, accomplish goals and make positive changes.

Corliss draws from a variety of techniques to best assist with client’s unique situation. In sessions, she assists the client in identifying, testing the reality of, and correcting dysfunctional beliefs underlying his or her thinking. With unique goals for each client, Corliss uses motivation and goal-setting to help clients gain awareness of their behavior, identify places for improvements and build new habits.

Corliss’ goal in therapy is to provide a caring, non-judgmental, and safe environment to help her clients identify and explore the issues that have been getting in the way of living their best life. She understands that people come from different backgrounds and is sensitive to the different life experiences, practices and beliefs these backgrounds bring. She is committed to making her space a safe harbor for any who need it.
